Live Review: Blueface at the Constellation Room, Observatory OC
Blueface is one of the few rap concerts that knows how to capture a room, even without hitting every lyric. His supporters arrived early to the small but electric Constellation Room in Santa Ana on that Thursday evening. The Los Angeles native seems to have a strong hold on the people outside of the LA metro area as well.
He opened the night with Studio, then went on to perform Respect my Cryppin’. The audience seemed to all have adopted the two-step, and it seemed like no one in the room was standing still, even the bartenders had to bop their heads a little as Blueface continued his lyrical rhymes over hit-making beats. When his most notable song, Thotiana, was introduced halfway through his set, the crowd went wild. There was twerking, bopping, crumping, and everything in between for this rap-heavy hit. Blueface had the crowd going so hard, he played Thotiana a second time to close out the show.
Overall, Blueface put on an incredible show, getting fans and first-time listeners alike to shake it to his music. Seeing Blueface in the Constellation Room earlier this month seemed fitting at the time, but with his newfound success, we’d bet that he’ll be on the main stage next time around.
