JOEY MICELI ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM PRETENDERS, OUT JULY 25

New Single “Remedy” feat. LEXXE Drops June 18 | “Heavy Hand” Follows on July 18

Los Angeles, CA — Rising singer-songwriter Joey Miceli is set to release his highly anticipated second studio album, Pretenders, on July 25. Known for his ethereal, genre-defying sound and lyrical emotional depth, Miceli continues to cement his reputation as one of music’s most evocative young voices.

At its core, Pretenders is a daring exploration of identity, longing, and illusion—a sweeping concept album that confronts the duality of self-worth and society’s obsession with status. “Everyone is pretending,” Miceli says of the album’s overarching theme. “We all seek to feel special, but what happens when you surrender to inferiority? What are we willing to lose, and who are we willing to hurt?

The first taste of Pretenders arrives June 18 with the release of “Remedy,” a hauntingly powerful duet featuring pop powerhouse LEXXE. Layered with electrifying synths, cinematic guitars, and a commanding vocal performance from both artists, “Remedy” captures the heartbreak of a one-sided friendship unraveling.

“Sometimes that pain can be so massive,” Miceli reflects. “I was more invested in people who couldn’t reciprocate. I wrote it with my friend Abigayle Oakley, and as soon as I reimagined it with Santino [producer], I knew I heard LEXXE on it.”

Just a week before the album drops, Miceli will unveil his final single, “Heavy Hand,” on July 18—a biting, theatrical anthem that imagines the cost of fame.

“With how oversaturated the industry is, I think virtually anyone would sell their soul for their dream,” Miceli explains. “This song is this angry and evil fantasy of storming into the label’s conference room and demanding to sign my contract in blood.”

Since releasing his first single at just eleven years old, Joey Miceli has grown into a singular artist with a clear vision and a heart-forward approach. His music offers a rare kind of emotional resonance, pairing intricate storytelling with expansive production. With Pretenders, he delivers his boldest statement yet—a provocative, soul-searching record that questions the very systems that shape who we become.

Pretenders is out everywhere July 25.

About Joey Miceli:

A singer-songwriter with an otherworldly touch, Joey’s musical journey began at the age of nine, and by eleven, he had already released his first single—an early spark from a soul that seemed born with something to say. Since then, his sound has evolved into something altogether singular: a genre-blurring blend of vulnerability and cinematic force, where sorrow dances with euphoria and softness carries its own weight.

Miceli’s music feels like a mirror held up to the most delicate parts of the human experience. Reflective and ethereal, his songs unravel the emotional knots of longing, identity, and self-worth—offering not answers, but resonance. He doesn’t just explore duality—he lives it, writing from the intersections of heartbreak and healing, fragility and fire.

But Joey is more than a voice—he’s a presence. An artist who creates not to impress, but to connect. In an industry obsessed with image and status, he offers something radical: sincerity. His mission is to be the role model he once needed—to remind anyone who’s ever felt small that their emotions are valid, their dreams are real, and their voice matters.

With each release, Joey Miceli carves deeper into his own truth—and in doing so, leaves space for others to find theirs. His music isn’t just heard; it’s felt. It lingers. It lifts. And most of all, it makes you feel less alone.
